History of the UCSD Baby Siblings Project

This project began in the Fall of 2002. Since that time, we have tested approximately 300 infants with funding from grants provided by the UC-Davis M.I.N.D. Institute and the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR). In 2004, an additional grant from the M.I.N.D. Institute made it possible to follow-up our participants with behavioral assessments through 36-months of age. As of February 2006, we have been incorporated into the multi-site project known as "High Risk Baby Siblings Autism Research," which is funded by NAAR/Autism Speaks and includes over 15 research groups across the USA and in Canada. In July 2006 we received additional funding from NAAR/Autism Speaks that will cover the expenses of our project until 2008. We hope to secure additional funding to facilitate the follow-up of participants to five years (60-months) of age.
