Karen
Dobkins, Ph.D., Director of the Infant Vision Lab Karen
Dobkins is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University
of California, San Diego, and the Director of the Infant Vision Laboratory.
She earned her Ph.D. in Neurosciences at the University of California,
San Diego in 1992. She has been conducting research on infant visual processing
for over 11 years. Dr. Dobkins has on-going support from the National
Institute of Health (NIH) for her research on the development of visual
motion processing in young infants, and from the National Science Foundation
(NSF) for her research on visual processing in deaf subjects. She and
Dr. Leslie Carver, Ph.D., have support from Autism Speaks to fund these
longitudinal studies in autism.
